Great burritos here! I really have enjoyed EVERY meal I've had at this place and am so glad that it's just a short walk from our home. It's small with seating for maybe 10 people (including their outside seating) but for the most part- we just do take out here. Food is terrificly fresh and made right there in front of you. Much better than Anna's. I love their spicy steak burrito. Really killer!

Decent prices and pretty good food. We got some carnitas and were pleasantly surprised how delicious they were. The service though, my goodness they are slower than molasses in winter. And it's HOT in there to be waiting. They need to put some pep in their step to get customers rolling in and out faster.

Awesome place for takeout/delivery. Really tasty, fresh food and not too greasy, unlike some local Mexican joints. Their pork plate was amazing... I'll be back, SOON.

Awesome fish tacos! Super fresh, organic ingredients!! Lots of vegan/vegetarian options too! I only wish they didn't use styrofoam.

The guy at the cash register was relatively quiet, but the gentlemen out back in the open kitchen were laughing and talking as they worked. Parking wasn't bad - street parking is a 2 hour limit Monday-Friday, and I found a spot across the street. The businesses on this block seem to be on the small side, with minimal space to relax at inside. Los Amigos had a row of counter seats along the window, and a patio table set out front. I went with the fish taco - 2 for $7 ($7.49 after tax). It arrived hot in a styrofoam take-out container lined with aluminium foil. Good thing too since the salsa didn't have the juices strained from it. I nudged aside the shredded lettuce and salsa to get a gander of the fish - a sizeable, yet thin fillet. I have no idea why they cut their limes into these half segments which make it tough to get the juices out, but I did what I could and manhandled these double tortilla-ed bundles into my mouth. The tortillas ripped here and there along the way, and the juices dripped through my fingers as salsa and lettuce dropped onto the foil. Two were a good sized portion for lunch, but they were a bit on the spicy side for me. I considered their liquid offerings, but wasn't sure if any, except maybe their new horchata, could cool my tongue, but I wasn't feeling it that day.

Hi! This is Gwendolyn, 9 years old, writing a review for Los Amigos. My favorite place to order from is Los Amigos. First, they have good burritos. They are a good size. Additionally, they have lots of choices for what to put in them like lettuce, beans, rice, chicken, cheese, salsa, etc. Another reason Los Amigos is my favorite place to order from is that they make their own Mexican soda. They have different kinds to choose from like grapefruit, strawberry, cherry, pineapple, etc. They even have tropical flavors. Their sodas are very fizzy and fresh. Most importantly, Los Amigos is very convenient. You can order online. They deliver and you don't even have to leave your house!!! I recommend that you get delivery or do take-out from Los Amigos because there is very little seating.

1st time ever ordering today and LAST TIME Rude on the phone, rude in person, nasty chicken soggy burritto. I couldnt make out any ingredients except for the bucket of black beans that was in it . I will never go back there again. I cant believe they are even in business.

  • Christine L.

The best burritos, hands down! Online ordering makes it super easy to get in and out (lines can be long, understandably so)...highly recommended!

Their menu and business have grown, but it's still my favorite burrito joint around. I grew up in L.A. and am about to go back for a visit, but I don't feel at all like I have to go back to my old hangouts to get a good take-out or delivery Mexican meal; Los Amigos is as good as any street joint in L.A. We're now addicted to the 'platos' (meat, rice, beans, and fixings of your choosing, along with a couple of corn tortillas that taste homemade) as well. To completely fulfill my Mexican take-out dreams, Los Amigos could perfect authentic seafood and breakfast dishes, and offer street-food-style Mexican corn on the cob. Oh, and their plantains could be a bit less sweet and served with crema. But as of now, they do consistently delicious, authentic food at a perfect price point. I hope this business is as successful as it deserves!

I've been here multiple times and I have to say that I've never been disappointed. I've tried the burritos and the burrito salads. I like that you have a choice of regular or whole wheat wrap for the burrito, and the burrito salads come in plastic containers that you seal up if you can't finish the bowl. This is a plus in my book because other Mexican places use papery bowls that cause a mess when you leave it for too long. Everything I've tried here is delicious. My favorites are the spicy chicken or spicy steak burritos/burrito salads. The guac is always worth the extra money. All the staff here are extremely friendly and efficient. I usually get my burritos to go since it's a small restaurant with only two or three seats by the window.

  • Lawrence S.

This place is awesome. Prices are very reasonable. I had the classic 10" Burrito with Chicken. Tons of options for toppings. Fast and friendly. Great lunch spot. Not a lot of seating though. Grab and Go!

  • RoslindaMal E.

3.5 Stars. I have had the soft tacos here a few times and they are really good. I usually order the spicy chicken and the spicy steak tacos with jalapenos & hot sauce. Very filling and good value at $2.75 each. Los Amigos is very small; no tables and only four seats along a window counter. There is no private parking; only street parking on Centre Street. I have not experienced any problems with the service. I need to broaden my horizon at Los Amigos and try the burritos, quesadillas, and Mexican plates.

These burritos make me happy every damn time. Simple, consistent, delicious ingredients that go so well together. The tortillas taste like the homemade ones I had while staying with a family in Mexico. We eat here weekly now. Chipotle was no longer doing it for me when I was pregnant this last year, so we tried Los Amigos and couldn't have been happier. I'm just sad we didn't try them out sooner! I get mine loaded, my husband gets his simple. They get it right every time. The cheese melted on the tortilla is a nice touch. Yum.

  • Mary G.

I've never had a better burrito! I've eaten everything on the menu at least once, I'm so happy I can order online too! Tacos & Burritos are on-point. Download their mobile app and make it easy to place your order so it's ready before you get there! I noticed a few of the people writing reviews said they felt rushed. If you've ever worked in a restaurant during lunch rush you'll understand. If you haven't, do yourself a favor and order your food in advance! It's easy and you'll get exactly what you want without any attitude!

  • Bikram S.

Quick service, fresh food. Though there is a very small seating section- 2-4 people max, this is essentially a take-out place.

  • Turner H.

Best burrito in the area. And that's with SCIENCE* attached to it. My girlfriend and I recently did a day long burrito crawl (technically taco crawl). Got one from every place in the Rozie, West Roxbury-ish area. No other place is even worth mentioning. Los Amigos were the champions and it wasn't even close *(full disclosure, as a fine arts major my notion on what makes a study 'scientific' is not necessarily very scientific)

    (4)
  • Radion T.

Best quesadillas ever!!! Tried mostly everything on the menu and i have never been dissapointed ! Guacamole is fantastic as well ! I definitely recommend this place!!!

    (5)
  • Meaghan F.

Best burrito in the area. Love the staff too. I see a lot of people complaining about the service, but they are all friendly if you treat them with respect and understand being behind the counter all day isn't some glamorous life. Plus I'm sure they are dealing with some unpleasant customers themselves. Definitely worth going in, great options and delicious food.

    (5)
  • Lillian L.

the burritos my bf and I ordered were really good -- a classic size spicy chicken and a jumbo size carnitas. we would go again for the food. however, the service sucked. the guy making our burrito just slopped on black beans before we could even say, "pinto, please." and he gave such an attitude when we ordered the jumbo size bc he had to then open up a new package of wrap. can't even get the baseline of customer service right. so, instead of 4-stars, they get 3.

    (3)
  • Joscelyn P.

Absolutely love this place!!!! Very fresh and tasty !!!!! It's my favorite place to go to when I'm feeling like Mexican food.

    (5)
  • Nicholas U.

These burritos are the best I have ever had. Also tried the fish tacos which were also awesome. Prices are also very reasonable and love getting the food here. Have to mark it down 1 star because the people who work here suck. They act like you murdered their family and took their dog. I deal with rude customers on a daily basis, so I can deal with it. Worth it for the food.

    (4)
  • Matthew M.

Foods good. The delivery service is hands down the worst i have ever gotten. The people are generally nice. The delivery literally takes an hour and a half if they remember your food.

    (1)
  • John F.

I generally really enjoy these burritos. The burritos themselves are awesome, and the ingredients are great. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the staff get careless at times and the burritos are rolled directly into the foil wrapping or not rolled at all on the sides, completely ruining the burrito experience. Besides this everything here is great. Parking is fairly easy and the burritos are fairly priced. I would still recommend Los Amigos.

    (4)
  • Meagan F.

I was pretty disappointed since the reviews were so good. To be fair, I had delivery and when it got to me it was lukewarm. I've also had takeout a couple times and it wasn't a vast improvement. Even the spicy version of things were lacking proper seasoning and the shrimp burrito was VERY salty. The quesadillas aren't what you expect (really a cheesy burrito) I actually liked it but of you are expecting a regular quesadilla you'll be disappointed. The salsa is awesome though.

    (2)
  • Lauren S.

I'm rating this place based on Boston-area take-out burrito/taco joints. I love them! Their food is always awesome and totally hits the spot. It's standard point-and-order easy Mexican, but I think they taste a lot better than Chipotle, Qdoba, and other local places.

    (5)
  • FlOr SuCely O.

What the hell is wrong with them! Seriously I had a bad experience getting 2 tacos and that old short guy with stupid attitud ! !!! Was very rude if I go back one day i will deff talk to the manager to get him fire!

    (1)
  • Leesha Z.

I came here on a whim because I was craving some good tex-mex! Judging by the reviews on yelp, I picked Los Amingos. Also, because of the reviews, I chose to get a burrito. For around $6 you get a perfect portion. All the ingredients tasted fresh and everything was delicious. They also have quesadillas and tacos for pretty cheap. Friendly staff and quick service as well. I'll be back.

    (4)
  • Ron W.

This place is unbelievable. As big of a Chipotle fan as I am, Los Amigos beats them by a long shot. Friendly staff, food is absolutely packed with flavor and you can't beat the price. I recommend the spicy steak and spicy chicken. Carnitas are fantastic as well. Well worth the trip. Won't be disappointed

    (5)
  • Mike P.

Food is great. The people who work there suck. Very rude. Could give a shit that you are there. Act like you are putting them out. Stay away. The food isn't worth the assholes who work there.

    (1)
  • Michael H.

Excellent burritos! The Cilantro Lime Rice is perfect. Great range of burrito sizes and extras so everyone in your party has the opportunity to get the perfect meal. The only bad experience I've had is when I delivered through foodler and waited over an hour and twenty minutes for a burrito.

    (4)
  • Bethania P.

I am giving it three stars because all though the food is generally fine, they need to work on customer service. Tonight I placed an order. They said it was going to be ready in 5 minutes. I got there and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. The cashier was rude and unresponsive. She seems young and inexperience. Mind you, I ordered a kid's size bean burrito and a kid size cheese quesadilla. :(

  • Alexis V.

Tried this place for the first time, with high expectations. The older man behind the counter made my burrito. He was the rudest human being I've ever talked to. I told him, I would like a jumbo burrito. He asked a question, (I thought he was asking what kind of meat I would like, so I said pork) he then, rudely and slowly said "rice and beans!?" I said "excuse me? You're rude" the tone in his voice was like he was fed up with life and taking it out on me. I'm sorry I couldn't understand your broken English. The customer service is awful. The burritos are not all that great. The pork was dry. And I had no flavor in my burrito? Where is all this flavor I read reviews about? It was bland. I prefer Chipotle and cannot wait until they get the pork back.

So I've been to this place two times thus far (all within a one week time span). Honestly, I felt quite claustrophobic as soon as I entered the place...they could really open up the place a bit considering how popular it's becoming. There is practically no seating area--I had to sit on a plastic chair by the windows, mind you, the sun was scorching hot that day, so it was a bit uncomfortable eating there. Regardless of that, the quesadilla I had was absolutely AMAZING. There was definitely something different in that quesadilla that I've never tasted before at any other Mexican chain. It was sweet, but a good kind of sweet--I think it might have been from the salsa. OH, and you GOTTA LOVE THE PRICES. This place is extremely reasonably priced, which is fantastic. HOWEVER...the second time that I went there I had a less than stellar experience, well, at least compared to my first insurmountable almost orgasmic experience. I asked for a chicken quesadilla, and the guy BARELY gave me any chicken. I only noticed when I started eating the quesadilla, and then 5 seconds in I was in a state of utter confusion because all the meat was gone? Did I really eat it that fast? OR WAS I ONLY GIVEN 4 PIECES OF DICED CHICKEN? Guess I'll never know. Oh, and the guy at the register tried to charge me for a large when I actually got a regular, but hey, that was excusable. Excluding those two mishaps, this place is awesome. Try it out.

Love it, love it, love it!!! It's local, it's cheap, the portions are huge and everything is super fresh and delicious.

    (5)
  • Hannah W.

Amazing burritos and fish tacos. I love the spicy meats as the filler for the burritos. The spice level is just right. Plus the pricing is great for how big the burritos are.

    (5)
  • Brian F.

Food was very fresh. Place was clean. Ripoff for chips and salsa 2.50. Come on man!! Quesadillas are made like burritos which was interesting.

On a cold rainy Sunday evening Mexican food sounded good. I had passed by Los Amigos many times as it is near my home. After finding the menu on yelp and putting together an order from the menu (not an intuitive one) I tried to call it in. I called three times in ten minutes just to get a message that the number I was calling had a full mailbox. Try again later. Finally gave up and ordered a pizza from A&N, but since I had time I thought I would do the right thing and stop in at Amigos to let thm know they had a problem. The person behind the counter, whose cell phone is the store phone, told me he turns off the phone when it gets too busy. Nice. He was very cold and completely unappreciative that I had taken the trouble to come by. Never again.

This place had gotten better then today was the final straw. We called to place a pick up order on 2/15 at 12:45 PM. The guy was rude to me on the phone then hung up. My fiance calls back to place our order the guy is rude and hangs up on him. When my fiance called back to ask why he was hanging up on us we were told he couldn't understand us. I have no accent. My fiance speaks fluent spanish and english. Not sure which language they need an order in but I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AGAIN. I have never been treated so rudely over a simple transaction. They should be ashamed of having employees like that.

  • Lucy B.

We went in with high expectations because we'd looked on yelp for good burritos. Chips were totally over salted and stale. The guac reminded me of the type you buy frozen at the grocery store. The staff was rude and disinterested. The burrito itself was mediocre and soggy.

  • Kristina C.

Los Amigos is my after-school savior. Both me and my guy teach, often until late, and this place is regularly our go-to for a quick, cheap, delicious meal. One of their Jumbo burritos is usually enough for both of us! They always taste fresh and are delicious in all varieties. Warning to the spicy-sensitive- their spicy meats are REALLY spicy. The cashiers always have a smile and seems happy to see me. Just watch out during dinner time- the place gets pretty busy! I think my only disappointment was their plantains. The one time I tried them, they were soggy, too oily and didn't seem thoroughly cooked. I love good plantains, so I am really hoping that was a fluke and next time they will be better. Other than that, my only complaint is they aren't open later.

    (5)
  • Pauleena M.

LOVE THEIR BURRITOS. I am California girl and I am picky with my mexican food (rightfully so). Every time I go I get the classic with refried beans, rice, lettuce, carnitas, salsa. Highly recommend this place. Street parking only.

This brand new establishment is off the charts! Who knew such good Mexican could come to West Roxbury!? I've been a burrito lover all my life (the short 25 years i've been around) and have been in search of great burritos all over. Anna's was always on the top of my list, but I think Los Amigos has just passed them (also they're closer to my house which is awesome!). The flavors work so well with each other and their sauces are awesome as well. I usually get the chipotle crema on my jumbo quesadillas-- its the perfect hint of spiciness and smokiness! Really recommend trying out Los Amigos!

First time here excellent fish tacos. Two enormous fish tacos loaded up for 7 bucks. I almost ordered a double order but I am glad I did not. Very filling. I look forward to trying their other items.

    (5)
  • Cindy H.

Dare I say... this place is even better than Anna's! GASP. About time there were more burrito places that perfect the soft, stretchy wrapping bit. They have ALL THE MEATS and a spicy option to go with practically each one. Granted I haven't had anything except their spicy chicken burritos, but it's always a damnnn good burrito. My little bro usually chooses between the spicy pork and beef, and he says they're great too. Gotta trust the kid. He knows his burritos.

Carne asada burrito and cilantro rice are to die for. This is the first place I've found since moving from SoCal that even compares. Love it.

  • Sean F.

I eat here way too much. Over 70 times. No joke. My girlfriend tells me I have a problem. I've had pretty much every possible burrito combination. I've had quesadillas and tacos too. I keep going back for more. The short guy behind the counter knows how to twist up a burrito like no other. Have I ever had a non-perfect burrito from here before? Yes. They can't be perfect every time. You bring in some new help and there will be some bumps in the road. Also, reviewers complaining about charging for guacamole is just stupid. That happens everywhere. Avocados aren't cheap folks. Also, burrito elitists from California are just annoying.

    (5)
  • Michael K.

West Roxbury had long needed a good burrito place. With Los Amigos, our prayers were more than answered. Excellent food at very reasonable prices, Los Amigos is the perfect destination when you're craving a burrito. The few flaws the place has is that there can be very long lines and the waiting area is tiny. The staff do a good job keeping the line moving, but with the line usually going out the door at popular dining hours, it can be a bit of a drawback during the winter or inclement weather. The food is more than worth the wait though.

    (5)
  • Seth And Sophie G.

Went to Los Amigos twice in less then a week! Very fresh food. Tons of options for fillings. Prices aren't too bad, very comparable to other places (Anna's, etc.) The benefit for me is that it is walking distance! But there is tons of stuff near Los Amigos, so swing on by!

  • Justo G.

Come here, say "Fish Burrito Por Favor" and wait for the flavor truck to come and run you over. You will love it. If you happen to not like fish, all of the other meets they make here is just as tasteful. This is one of the few spots in the city that has authentic Tex-Mex/Mexican food coming off the grill. Can't go wrong with the prices, friendly staff and Mexican coca-cola. Love this place. Enjoy!

  • Tessa B.

This place is A.Maz.Ing! It's the best burrito I've ever had - their pico de gallo is superb and fresh. I always get the spicy chicken, but my husband has tried the steak, carnitas, and al pastor - the flavors are nice but we just keep coming back to the spicy chicken. They are not stingy with the guac, pico, and sour cream, and this burrito is so filling that there's not way you won't be satisfied. Their chips taste homemade ,they're FRESH (is that a hint of lemon juice I detect? Me like!), and aaaallll of their salsas are delicious - I like the regular salsa, but their mango salsa, omg, spicy, very spicy, but sweet, the perfect combo for a mango salsa. The owner is often there, and he knows his stuff. Next time I go, I'm going to try the fish tacos, because they sound fantastic! Just got back from Cali and within a day I was already back at Los Amigos; it's just THAT good it can't even compete with Las Quattros Milpas (in San Diego).

  • Cruz R.

The fish tacos are unreal. So perfectly and piquantly seasoned. Los Amigos is the closest thing to a California-Mex taqueria I've found in Massachusetts in 20 years. This is not a burrito joint (like el pelon), this is not Tex-Mex (like Border Cafe or ::shudder:: worse), this is just like the food served in my Cali hometown at the taqueria across the street from the beach. At LAST, a Mexican place that serves hot salsa that is actually hot. We order one plato (plates with meat, beans, rice, salsa) and vary the choices every time we go. Add in an order of the fish tacos and it's more than enough for two.

  • Dan B.

Before I start my review, let me say I can only comment on the tacos. I went in on weekday for a late lunch, around 2:30ish. I ordered 3 tacos - 2 pok and 1 chicken. I knew I was in trouble when I saw the guy behind the counter loading them up with guac and salsa without asking. I asked him to go light on the toppings, he looked at me and threw a glob of tasteless guac on my last taco. I was starving and figured the tortillas would hold up. I sat at the bar space, tried to pick up my first and fail. The whole thing fell apart due to the mountain of crap that was loaded on top. Oh well, I'll eat with a knife and fork. What I found was cold, tasteless (literally tasteless, I knew something was in my mouth, but there was NO flavor) pile of shit. I turned around and told the girl at the register that they were terrible and I wanted my money back. She complied without any fight, so for that they get 1 star. The burritos may good, as they can be loaded up with a plethora of things, but tacos should be simple - flavorful meat and some pico. FYI, I left and went to Banh Mi Ngon, which had great Banh Mi sandwiches.

Most bomb burritos you'll find. Whether you're vegan or a carnivore, you'll love it. It's really the options that make this place rock. Customize your burrito a million different ways: Tons of fillings: 2 bean options, 2 rice options, several meat options, tilapia, shrimp, and grilled fajita veggies. Tons of extras: regular salsa, corn salsa, mango salsa, guac Tons of sauces: from green and mild to red hot!

  • Kadin L.

Oh. My. God. Their burritos are orgasmic. Sooooooooooo BIG. I had a 12" burrito (more like 20inches) Wth carnitas, yellow rice, lettuce, salsa, and guacamole. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONEEEE!! Soooo goooooooooood!!

    (5)
  • Kelly B.

I always order the same thing, because I love it so much haha, Burrito bowl with spicy chicken is amaazing!! The guacamole is also great! Best burrito place around!

  • Anthony D.

It's not Anna's but it's the second best burrito in Boston. It can get a bit too crowded at the dinner rush and the place is so small they can't really handle it but I've yet to get a bad burrito. In a time where Boca Grande has become wildly inconsistent and Anna's is a 30 min drive, Los Amigos is a welcome neighbor. Don't waste your money at a qdoba or chipotle, get the real deal.

  • Sean M.

Fish burrito. Made my Sunday. And I freeking hate Sundays. Little dude who makes the burritos could use some social polish. Think soup nazi, except burrito guy doesn't yell, just stares at you with obvious disdain until you specify black or refried beans. I now circumvent this unpleasantness by going to the young kid at the cash register to order.

  • Caitlin B.

The food here is authentic with a twist. I am really happy that this place is close by. Everything I have ordered has been really good. My favorite menu item is the coconut shrimp buritto. I don't know of any other place that has one, and this one is so tasty. You can customize pretty much everything on the menu, and they are really good about listening to what you do and don't want. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the take-out situation needs to be handled a little differently. Even if you call ahead for your food they have you stand in line before everyone ordering theirs, so really no reason to call ahead, you should just come in and order right there, it will take the same ammount of time. In that case, they shouldn'd offer order ahead. That being said, it would't stop me from going there, I think they are relatively new and small and are getting busier. I am sure they will figure out a good system. Try the coconut shrimp buritto

The service was fast, and the food was delicious and cheap. We had fish tacos, which were filled with heaping portions of freshly grilled tilapia and seasoned well along with a spicy dressing that was fabulous. Additionally, we tried grilled veggie burritos with guacamole. This will be an order we will place again in the very near future. The restaurant is set up mainly for take-out, but there are a few seats along a bar at the window.

This place makes the best burritos I've ever had. These burritos are perfectly wrapped, they don't fall apart and they don't drip on you. The fillings are spread out perfectly so you get great flavor with every bite, unlike some places where all the good stuff is in the bottom of the burrito. There's no place in the Boston metro area that comes close to making as good of a burrito. The same great staff members are always working--when do they get a break? If you come too late in the day near close, they might be out of guac or only have cilantro rice left, but it'll still be one of the best burritos you've ever had.

  • An L.

After we tried Anna's Taqueria in the same week, we've got to upgrade this place to 5 stars. It is really phenomenally good burros, best we've had in town.

  • Melissa D.

The best part of this place is the price is right for the size you get. From regular to jumbo, you won't be disappointed on how much you pay and what you get. They have different kinds of protein which can be great for variety but then hit or miss. I had the chicken rancheros one time which was amazing but then I had the steak once which was dry. It's a simple menu, you choose your protein, cheese, rice and beans. Definitely try their hot sauce - green devil goodness. My portion was huge, twice, the guy had to wrap another flour tortilla around it. It is a take out place so only a few bar stools to eat there. I also have tried their chips and salsa which is the chunky tomato and red onion kind but it's definitely fresh. It's a good alternative for nice hearty lunch or quick dinner.

Do they really know what "Amigos" mean??? People who work there are very rude, they don't greet, look at you, or say anything. I've been there twice and both times have been a bad experience, the food is good though, but customer service is awful. I give it one star cause the food is good!

Decent Mexican take out place like most of the others in the Boston area, except standout El Pelon. Also priced about the same as the others. Edible but I wouldn't go out of my way for it and I certainly don't crave it after having it several times. Biggest downside is the ever present grumpy guy that puts together the orders. Must be one of the owners or part of the family otherwise can't see why they have someone with such a short fuse doing most of the interaction with the customers. Make sure you can rattle off your order without hesitation before you step up to the counter and for goodness sake don't ask a question like "How big are the kid burritos?" or you will give the guy an aneurism.

Best quesadillas ever! The food is delicious and not expensive. The man who makes the food in front does wear gloves but he wipes the counter with a dirty dish rag and then uses the same gloves to make the food. He is not very friendly. But other than that the food is good and the prices are good.

I've never been a big fan of Mexican food, but the burritos at Los Amigos are a perfect dinner on-the-go. A "Jumbo" will run you about $6.50 and it's the perfect size for a small dinner (or late lunch when you're a little hungrier than average). The offerings could stand to be a little spicier, but the ingredients are fresh, delicious and ready in a heartbeat. Will this be the best burrito you've ever had? I don't know, I have no idea who you are. Why would you assume I'd be able to answer that question? That was awfully presumptuous of you. This is the kind of grab-and-go place that has been missing from West Roxbury. Any other speedy offering is either pizza, or a car ride out to Rte 1 to a chain fast food joint*. A perfect addition to the neighborhood. I'd expect their offerings to expand as they get to know the clientele's tastes. But for quick/easy/good in West Roxbury, you're not gonna do any better. *Real Deal is a great sandwich spot, but it's only "grab-and-go" if you measure time in terms of tectonic plate-shifting.

"What do you want?" I want the people that make the burritos to be nice. I also kind of want to stop going here because the burrito makers are so grumpy. The kid at the register is always nice and friendly but cripes almighty those other dudes are the pits. They actually make me uncomfortable and I feel like I should apologize for ordering. The burritos are good though.

One of the better burrito places that I've had in the Boston area. Pretty simple menu ... essentially tacos and burritos. Was impressed with all of the filling choices, different flavors of chicken, steak, pork, veggie, etc. They offer three different size choices depending on your hunger level. I got the medium size and that was perfect for me. Very limited seating. Would love to come back to try some of the other choices.

Great Food! I've tried many Burrito places in the Boston area, and Los Amigos is by far the best. The ingredients are super fresh, the flavors excellent, and the selection of options large. The prices are very fair, and the portion size is large. I highly recommend this place over Anna's and any of the other Burrito joints in the area.

Big fan but I order only the Spivey steak burrito with black beans and rice.

I am originally from San Diego, and so of course dearly miss authentic Mexican food. This place is the closest thing to a San Diego taco shop. It is suuuuuper yum! The guacamole is super delicioso! The green rice is yum, as are all the beans. This is our go-to burrito place now!! The only thing is, the sometimes the guy who makes the burritos can be a little unfriendly...I think he is mostly just tired, but it is hard to get him to smile.

So I've been coming here more and more recently. In my previous review I mentioned that it was a little bland. Well, that has changed. The spicy chicken and beef, chipotle sour cream, and mango salsa are all awesome.

I'm happy to write a review for this new spot, so glad to have found a place like it. While I don't live in the area, I am often visiting, and you can bet I'll be back several times to try different things on the menu. So far I've had the fish tacos, the plaintain burrito and the coconut shrimp burrito - all amazing. The service is quick and friendly. No fuss, sit at a table and enjoy the food! Can't wait to try the mushroom burrito. I love that they have some different offerings. Do yourself and favor and have a visit - great for families, too.

I just moved to the neighborhood and was excited to see a burrito place just across the street from my new place. Today I finally went over and noticed a bit of a lunch line (and this was at 1:30pm) so I figured it must be good. After a very long wait (over 15 minutes) in line I finally was able to request a classic carnitas burrito with salsa and green rice. I'm a huge Anna's Taqueria fan and I'm always in search of a better, less crowded burrito place. Unfortunately Los Amigos is not it. I took one bite and new I'd regret my lunch choice. The burrito was cold, the carnitas were not hot at all, it really felt like it was room temperature. The burrito was extremely soggy and bland! If I have salsa and guac, I expect at least a hint of salt in the burrito. What a waste of $6. I would give this place zero starts if it were an option. Not sure why anyone would go there.

I stand corrected. They are skimping out on the ingredients and all I get are mouthfuls of the wrap instead. My mother orders two regulars with nothing extra and is charged extra, leaving me to be very suspicious. Hey "amigos", I am watching you. Burritos are still tasty, if I move past the tortilla.

There are a huge number of over-hyped crappy burrito places in Boston. This is not one of them. The food is great. Not five-star, but a solid four. The modest place has an appealing paint color. Good prices. The fish taco platter is great.

I dont care what anyone says about this place. Its the best burrito place i've been so far. And $5 plus tax for a burrito is not that bad, i mean in downtown Boston i used to pay $8 plus tax and that was just for the chicken one. Place is pretty clean, not much seating space but who cares??????

This place has awesome burritos and quesadillas. One thing to know is that their quesadillas are just like burritos, but put on the grill with cheese before, so they're crispy and have a ton of fillings. It's not your typical "two tortillas with cheese in between" type item. So delicious, though. The service is quick and friendly. Fresh ingredients. Try the chipotle sour cream and the cilantro lime rice! Not much seating (bar up against the window and a table outside), but it's more of a take-out place anyway.

I tried this burrito place for the first time this weekend. I had heard it was opening up and wanted to give it a chance. I love mexican food - especially burritos. This place was definitely up to par. I got the jumbo burrito with spicy chicken and spicy steak. The chicken was unlike anything i've every had at a burrito shop. It was well marinated and not the generic steamed crap you get elsewhere. The steak was also fantastic. The cilantro-lime rice was out of this world. It was my first time at this place, but I will definitely be going back. It was hands-down one of the top 5 burrito places I've tried in my life. Nice to know that it's so close to home and so reasonably priced.

I am tired of paying $12 (on average) for a regular chicken burrito, where they scarcely put any of the ingredients on and then have the audacity to charge an extra $0.75-$1.50 for things like guacamole and sour cream. And even more if you ask for more of a regular amount. Anna's Tacqueria in Brookline is very guilty of this. Yucan Tacos down the street is far better. The people in there are so nice and they have a frequent buyer burrito card. They don't hassle you for every last thing you put on your burritos. Los Amigos, I found to be a copycat of Anna's Tacqueria. Just plain terrible. I only went there because Yucatan was closed that day. I can't stand it when I get upcharged for something simple like a burrito. Hate being taken advantage of. Will not be going there again.

just went here for the first time. great folks behind the counter. the food was very good and generous. got the carnitas burrito. very tasty pork without being too fatty. our daughter had the chicken tacos. huge pieces of grilled chicken were tasty. will definitely go here again to try out the variety of choices.

This place is a hidden gem for Mexican food is West Roxbury. I ordered a burrito from here and it tasted authentic comparable to Anna's Taqueira and El Pelon's Taqueira. The burrito costs $8 and it was delicious. It's definitely something different to eat in a neighborhood filled with pizza shops and the value is good.

awesssssoooommmmme, drove down ehre after I THREW MY food bought at Yucatan mexican up the street, that place SUCKS, but this place, better, fresh, the food is hot, tastes a billion times better and BEST OF ALL THE PLACE IS CLEAN !

Very small place eating there is nearly impossible. High-quality burritos and quesadillas. Fresh ingredients. Burritos have been consistent.

I stop here probably too often for a quick fix on a burrito. The ingredients are always fresh, the people that work here are friendly and courteous and the prices make it an easy choice for a quick meal. I wish them the best of luck! I will stop by any time I am in the area.

Ahhhhh!!!! Zesty, fresh, crunchy, spicy fish tacos! I am happy! I think these are *much* better than El Pelon Taqueria, which is coo' isht considering this restaurant is five times closer to where I stay. All I got were the fish tacos, so I'll end this review until I return another two times, but holy crap --- they're good, and they're not BREADED. They are not BREADED. No mushy fish in your mouth!? Huzzah!

We just went to this new local restaurant opened by a 22 year old kid! And the food was amaazing! I got a Vegan jumbo burrito w/beans, portobello mushroom, salsa, guac, & jalapenos! My Veg spouse got one w/fried veggies, cheese, etc. Veg Daughter got los platos w/rice, veggies, Veggies, etc. Omnivore friend got los platos w/steak, etc. We were all blown away. The best burrito I ever had! Reasonable prices too!

This place gets 4 stars because I don't have to drive to an Anna's anymore when I want a decent burrito. Everything could be spicier but it's fresh and pretty good. I still miss living close to Anna's but I'm not ranting "why are there no burrito joints ovah this way" at the sky anymore.

  • Jules H.

Fresh burrito ingredients, and a well-styled little spot. Nice employees, great location, and it's awesome because we've been saying since we moved here how much we need a burrito place (frankly, this is the best in the area). Agree with another commenter that the food needs more spice -- I was saying maybe another salsa option in addition to pico de gallo. Since this business is brand-spanking new, I'm assuming they're reading these comments and still tweaking things a bit over there, so I hope this is helpful. But it's solid, cheap food -- and the place is SPOTLESS. You can see right into the cooking area, and it GLEAMS.

I live in Westie...so I am always psyched when a new dinner spot opens. Los Amigos did not disappoint. The freshness of the burrito was really evident and I liked the sizes. A regular was enough for me! The price was right and I was able to get in and out pretty quick! Welcome to the 'hood Los Amigos!

Everything about this place is yummy, the only thing that bothers me is.... the quesadillas, as far as i know, are the same thing as the burrittos, they aren't served flat or cut in triangles, they are rolled like a burritto, and now I'm even more confused about Mexican food. Oh well, Its still delicious though! :)

I'll keep it short and sweet. This past Friday night, 2/3, I got the classic burrito Al Pastor, and my wife got the Mexican plate with grilled veggies. That was our dinner. We liked it so much, we went back the next day and got the same thing for lunch.

Ordered a jumbo burrito with carnitas. First thing I noticed is that they press the burritos with a slice of cheese like Anna's. One bite of my burrito and I was a happy camper. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the carnitas was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The main highlight for me was their fresh tomato salsa which was downright delicious. Glad to see a business like this come into West Roxbury, won't be driving 15 minutes to Chipotle any more!

Los Amigos was really clean, friendly staff and fast service. The food was really fresh. And they DO have vegetarian refried and black beans. No lard or meat stock. Yayyy! Can't wait to go back. Happy to see a fast easy take out option in Westie besides pizza or Asian :)

fish tacos. unreal. everything else is cafeteria style/typical fast food burrito joint, but the fish tacos are made to order. I sometimes order it as a salad (eliminating a tortilla) as a low carb type of dish. awesome!

Tried this place out last night. It was a good meal - nothing super fancy or special - just good. We got, a burrito, a plate & quesadilla. Portions were great - however flavor was bland but the price was right. I will try this place again

They just opened this week and I tried their classic borrito. I had rice, beans, salsa, hot sauce, steak and of course cheese. You can choose whatever you want. I wanted jalapeños but they didn't have it. It would've given it a nice kick but we requested it for next time. Overall they were good. I will be coming back.

Living on the Brookline/Westie border, it's hard to make the trek to Anna's every time I want a burrito. Fortunately, there's Los Amigos. Which has the same format as Anna's, with way more meat options. The rice is flavorful and moist, the salsas are yummy and fresh, and the portions are huge. The men making the burritos are a little dour, but the young man who is always behind the counter is helpful and friendly.

Picked up fish tacos and a carnitas burrito for dinner this evening. The tacos were tasty. . Fish was OK, unobtrusive. Really liked the chipotle cream, which has a very nice kick (made my lips burn pleasantly), and the flavorful pico de gallo. Lettuce was very fresh. The tortillas were tender with a nice texture. I plan on giving the tacos the a go again but with grilled shrimp. At any rate, it's a nice option to have. My son devoured a jumbo carnitas burrito (2 sizes of burritos are available) and pronounced it "Really good!" I definitely plan on returning to this new spot in the neighborhood!

My office started ordering out lunch from this place and it's delicious!!!! I agree with another reviewer that what they call a quesedila is not what you would expect... but once you get past the odd shape of it (a burrito shape instead of flat), what's inside is super yummy! I got mine with cilantro lime rice and black beans and what I love the most is that it tastes fresh- not as greasy as some mexican places can be.

  • Todd J.

It literally just opened today, so my wife and I got chicken burritos. The classic size is a nice healthy portion. They have many options, salsas, and hot sauce! We'll be coming here again for sure! I even asked for a California Burrito so maybe they'll eventually have them!

  • Thomas B.

Coming from California, I have pretty high standards for Mexican food. Los Amigos Burritos was definitely a disappointment. There was a complete lack of flavor in any of the ingredients, and they used sliced cheese (odd?). The torillas were cheap grocery store quality and were rubbery. The only upside is the guacamole tasted like the real stuff. The burritos themselves were very small and left me hungry afterwards. If you are searching for good Mexican food.. search elsewhere.

Had the fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious!!! Fresh ingredients and... what the heck do they do to that tilapia to make it melt in your mouth??!! The sauce was amazing as well. I will definitely go back. The only thing is, the guy making the burrito/tacos is a little surly and annoyed that you are bothering him with your presence. Taco Nazi?? Anyway, I'll suffer his gruff approach, 'cause this place is THAT good.

  • Ren P.

I love burritos, I live right near this place, and I am generally short on cash. So I was almost hoping it would be bad, because I forsee spending too much money here. I got my usual veggie option with pinto beans. The cheese was melty and there wasn't too much rice. It was pretty much perfect. I agree that they could have a spicier salsa option. I may ask for hot sauce next time. Oh yeah, and a Jumbo instead of the regular size, because I finished eating and wanted MORE! I'm glad there's a decent burrito place in the neighborhood.

DELICIOUS!! Got a classic chicken burrito with extra cheese and guacamole!! chicken was really good and juicy and the "pico de gallo" is super authentic and amazing!! overall YUM!! Definitely recommend Los Amigos :)))

Not great, but not awful either. Slightly overpriced, but clean with polite service. I guess you could say it is a nice addition to the neighborhood, but it ain't no El Pelon.

We tried the fish tacos, chicken burrito, and chips. The fish tacos were tasty and a good deal but a little messy when they were taken to go. The chicken burrito's tortilla was perfectly done- moist but not breaking apart plus the right size. The inside stuff ie chicken, beans etc lacked taste ala Ana's tacqueria but was acceptable. If it had more taste would have added at least one more star to the rating. The chips were really good. Me and my wife really like the different salsa's. They were spicy but not too spicy plus they had a certain unique taste to them. We will definitely try this place again trying some otehr dishes there.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
